It is a well known Complaint from the users of Google's Nexus 5 that they were facing problem with their battery drain.The Nexus 5 battery life issue is caused by a software process within Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) that gives apps access to the Nexus 5’s camera.
The problem starts when a camera app like one that allows users to click pictures or Skype is used, it continues to run in the background and uses CPU cycles. This not only leads to the battery drain but the phone also heats up.
Many of the Nexus 5 users have complained on Google support forums that they are facing unexplained battery drain when they use apps related to camera.
So, Google has promised to fix for battery bug as it has identified the problem with Nexus 5.This can cause the Nexus 5 to run warmer than normal. A Google employee told members of a forum dedicated to the issue that a fix is on the way.
